What Kibble does with your data

Kibble is made and operated by Suman Gupta, a sole proprietor based in Thane, Maharashtra 401107, India. This policy describes what the app actually does, taken from its source code, and it applies to the Android app and to this website.

The short version

Kibble has no account, no server and no analytics. Your alarms, your wake history and your settings are stored on your phone and stay there. We cannot see them, because there is nowhere for them to go.

What is stored on your phone

• Your alarms: times, repeat days, labels, chosen mission, sound and volume settings.
• Your wake history: for each morning the alarm fired: when it rang, how it ended, how many times you snoozed, and how long the mission took. This is what the streak is calculated from.
• Your settings: default mission, theme, alarm sound, haptics.
• A diagnostic log: a capped, rolling text file recording when alarms were scheduled, fired, missed or stopped. It exists so that a missed alarm can be explained.

All four live in the app's private storage. Uninstalling Kibble deletes every one of them permanently, and there is no backup we can restore from.

What leaves your phone

Nothing, unless you personally send it. There are exactly two ways that can happen:

• Export wake history. You choose a file location and Kibble writes a CSV to it. Where it goes from there is up to you.
• Email the log. If you ask us for help, the reliability screen can attach the diagnostic log to an email. You see the message before it is sent and can read the attachment first. It contains alarm times, your phone's model and Android version, and which battery settings are switched on. No contacts, no location, no message content.

Sensors

The shake and steps missions read the accelerometer, and only while an alarm is actually ringing. Readings are counted and discarded in memory. They are never written down or transmitted. Kibble deliberately does not request the Physical Activity permission, because counting the accelerometer ourselves does the job without it.

Permissions, and why each one exists

• Alarms & reminders: to fire at the exact minute rather than whenever the system gets round to it.
• Notifications: so the ringing alarm can take over the screen.
• Display over the lock screen: so you can complete the mission without unlocking.
• Ignore battery optimisation: so your phone does not close Kibble overnight and miss the alarm.
• Run at startup: so your alarms survive a reboot.
• Vibrate and keep awake: so the alarm can actually wake you.

Advertising and tracking

There is none. No ad networks, no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifier, no crash reporter, no third-party trackers of any kind. Kibble does not profile you and has nothing to sell.

Payments

Kibble is free today. When the Cat Club subscription launches, purchases will be handled by Google Play and by RevenueCat, who manage the subscription status on our behalf. We will never see your card details. This section will be updated with the specifics before any payment feature ships.

Children

Kibble is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them, or, as above, from anyone.

Your rights

Since your data never reaches us, there is nothing for us to hand over or delete on request. You have the whole of it on your phone: export it from Settings whenever you like, and uninstalling erases it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what happens to your data, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect, not only on this page.
